Jobs Shows Off new Keynote Transitions

—September 11th, 2008—

As usual, Jobs’s Nano introduction featured several new transitions, and Les Posen captures them all.

The first text transition is particularly good. Specified letters or digits will stay on the screen between transitions, and are lighter than the rest of the text. It is hard to explain in words, but Les does a good job of showing it with screenshots, but the effect provides an excellent metaphor — it shows continuity between different text, which can be used in all sorts of incredible ways.

I love Keynote and love giving presentations with it, so I always watch for new transitions in Jobs’s presentations. I am glad to see Apple is well on their way to a new Keynote release.
