I'm using another heavily-modified Chris Pearson theme (Neoclassical) on my own site. He does good work.

Thanks, Evan!

It's taken a little work hacking the theme, but I'm actually happy with it right now. I was going to write my own theme, but that may not be necessary now.

Thanks for reading, Jane, and I'm glad you enjoyed my article and Paul Graham's.

Define your own plan, what your dream is, and do it -- you have assembled a group of people, and that is the first step in realizing any goals with an organization. Don't worry about not being experienced business people. If you have motivation, that will more than make up for it.

This is so interesting to me because this is where my non-profit is right now. We've got a great and unique idea for helping our community and have had an amazing response. Now funding is the issue. We are a bit dismayed by the non-profit industrial complex. Just read of a study showing the net gain from grants is often minimal due to the cost of applying and reporting. We face two problems:
First, we're not experienced business people. We simply have a vision and are working diligently to make it happen.
Second, the experienced business and non-profit people we have advising us seem only to see the conventional path. We need a plan as innovative as our idea.
Paul Graham's essay 'Be Good' and this post will give us some ideas and inspiration. Thank you.
